Ski boots are a very important part of your skiing experience. Besides the fact that you for sure will not enjoy your time on the hill with cold and ache feet, it is crucial to understand that your ski boots are the key to your performance as well.

An important rule of thumb when buying your first pair of ski boots is to go to a good ski shop, preferably a store that specializes in ski boots with an experienced staff who ski and know what they’re talking about. Find a store with boot certified service and sales associates.

Different brands may fit differently. Some brands will accommodate a wider foot while others run large or small. Make sure that when you try on the boots you are wearing the socks that you will wear on the hill. If you are a seasoned skier make sure that you buy stiffer boots. As your feet will swell during the day try to shop for ski boots later in the day to get a good fit.

Your boots should fit in accordance with your natural stance so make sure you do your due diligence when trying on boots. If the fit is wrong it could ruin your day on the mountain.

If you can find a proper boot fitter I would suggest you talk to them and have them help you. In some cases you will find people who went to school to learn how to fit ski boots to each unique individual. A good fitting can take upwards of an hour so make sure you block out some time to spend at a quality ski boot store.
Ski boots are priced according to the brand and the level of skier they are being purchased for. For a beginner you can run up to $100 while a really nice pair can be several hundred dollars.
